Migrant children and xenophobia

Imagen
Hi everyone! In this new post I am going to talk about an article I wrote last year about migrant children and xenophobia. The migration is a social phenomenon that has occurred throughout the years, but nowadays it has been positioned in public debate due to the increasing number of immigrants in Chile, the latter seen in the Censo executed in the year 2017, which indicates that there are 746.565 people born abroad that declared residing habitually in Chile. This phenomenon has not been exceptionally from adult people, instead, there is a high participation from children in this migratory process. The role of educational institutions in the process of foreign children inclusion in the country plays a fundamental function, for it is here where the prevailing cultural regulations are reproduced, and they are taught what is legitimate to learn according to the Chilean educational model. Nevertheless, it is not a free-violence place, oppression and xenophobia due to invisibilizati...

My baby

Hello! Today I am going to talk about my pet, his name is Tara, she is 1 year and 4 months, she is a dog from race poodle. I have come to live with me a year ago and have been the best company I ever had. She is a very loving dog, stole everyone's heart in my house, especially my dad's. It was a gift from my older sister, she had two dogs that had children and were born Tara, and it was the first to be born so it was biggest and fat. When we first arrived, we were very afraid of upbringing, because many years ago, we did not have a dog in our home, but it has been a challenge we have made in our family and I think we've done a good job , because Tara is a healthy dog, she is up today with all his vaccinations. It's the least you can do with pets, because they are helpless animals and depend on one. They are wonderful beings that settle and are happy only with love, which is the least one can for them. She's part of our family, we consider it...

Postgraduate

Imagen
Hi everyone! In this new post I am going to talk about a postgraduate.  Before to star working, I would like to do a master degree in psychology, because I have ever believed that it a interesting and exciting to keep in mind for a social worker. The university gives the option to make a master degree in fifth grade, which I am very interested. Why in psychology? Because, I have always liked this discipline, consider it to be a perfect complement for Social Work. After, I’d like to do a postgraduate in my discipline, ideally in another country, for example in England, because in this place exist many recent studies and research. But that’s why I have to learn this language very well, which is a big challenge to me. I consider it important keep specializing, because today unfortunately the work is based on competition and individuality. I’d like to do a doctorate in half day, to be able to work, because these studies are very expansive. However, this idea of going ...

Before to star working, I would like to do a master degree in psychology, because I have ever believed that it a interesting and exciting to keep in mind for a social worker. Nowadays, the social workers can be dedicated since the area of the public policies until their owns researches and studies. I would personally like to work close with people, to know different realities and understand the needs of people. But this is a big challenge for me, therefore I’d like to ...

Different infancy perceptions

Imagen
My topic will be on the different infancy perceptions that some authors speak about. The traditional studies about infancy have had a significant importance until recently, because, they are based on the idea that childhood is a stage of biopsychosocial development, where children do not have an active role in the society, rather they are in a previous stage in which are preparing them to be adults.   Emile Durkheim, considers children as a nature’s state, far from what we'd consider as ‘’civilized’’. Also, is Talcott Parsons, who gives a lot of importance to the family and its role in child socialization. Early nineties, a new vision began to generate a critic analysis on how childhood had been understood in traditional studies. This give origin to a contemporary sociological theory which consider that “Childhood as a social fact, and represents a first attempt in the consideration of the family like an object of autonomous sociological interest’’ (Pávez, 2012 ). My dream career

Imagen
Hello! Today I am going to tell you about my childhood’s dream and about the choice of my current career. When i was child I had a lot of dreams about my ideal profession, first I wanted to be a detective, then I wanted to be a tennis player. Later when I was in middle school I wanted to be an engineer in risk prevention, but finally I decided to study Social Work because I have ever felt close to people, and I’m able to empathize and understand all the different peoples realities . My experience at the university has been good and also bad, because at the beginning it was very stressful, but with enough time it has come more calmly, so is just a problem of good organization. When I graduate from the University I would like to work at the SENAME, because I have ever been interested in the childhood’s Institutionalized and vulnerated.
